• Kaya = coconut milk + eggs + pandan, slow-stirred to caramel silk — Malaysia's answer to Nutella, on charcoal toast with cold butter
• CUSTOMS: kaya contains egg — carry only commercially sealed, labelled jars and declare it (US CBP generally admits sealed egg-based spreads; homemade kopitiam tubs are riskier)
