Yamazaki Single Malt (NAS/Distiller's Reserve) 700ml
Japanese whisky at Japanese prices: even at post-hike MSRP, Yamazaki NAS is roughly half its US street price and a third of Indian retail — the single best-value bottle in your 2L allowance.
Price: 7000 JPY (Suntory Japan suggested retail after 2025 price revision; scarce at MSRP, supermarkets/liquor chains often lottery or markup)
Where to buy: Yamaya and Kakuyasu liquor chains, department store basements (Isetan, Takashimaya), or airport duty-free after security; Don Quijote stocks it at a markup.

- Finding Yamazaki/Hakushu at MSRP takes luck — check multiple liquor chains; anything near ¥7,000-9,000 is still far below US/India prices. Age-statement bottles (12yr+) are lottery-only or heavily marked up.
- Customs limits: India allows only 2L of alcohol duty-free; US 1L (21+). Pack in checked luggage, bubble-wrapped.
- Under current rules alcohol bought tax-free is sealed until departure; from Nov 2026 you pay tax and refund at the airport instead. Easier grabs at similar savings: Hibiki Harmony, Toki, Nikka From The Barrel.
