• Regional exclusives (each city's themed Pikachu, seasonal lines) are the pieces you genuinely can't buy elsewhere — US Pokémon Center stock is a small subset at ~2x the price.
• Japanese-language TCG boxes are dramatically cheaper than English sets but cards are in Japanese; current sets can have per-person purchase limits due to scalping.
• Weekends and school holidays mean queues at Mega Tokyo — go on weekday mornings.
